After learning that their 6-year-old son Miles has type 1 diabetes, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are acclimating to “a different, new world for us” with their young children.
After some of her fans observed that the little child in a picture of him carrying placards at the Paris Olympics had a glucose monitor attached to the back of his arm, Teigen informed her followers on Wednesday on Instagram of her son’s condition.
Many of you saw something a little unusual in a picture Luna, Miles, and I shared a few days ago in which we were all congratulating Simone (Biles) and Team USA. Teigen, 38, said in the post, “Miles had his arm up, and so many of you reached out to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform.”
“You saw his type-1 diabetes monitor and showed him so much support and affection in every way you could. I was and still am astonished by this community’s generosity.
She was moved by the outpouring of love and support that her fans and followers showed her in response to her message.
“Our Miles was hospitalized a few weeks ago due to a severe case of shigella, an intestinal infection brought on by germs in food or drink. Because they attended the same camp, several of his pals were also ill. Teigen wrote a post.
It was then that his blood results showed something strange, according to the physicians.
However, the physicians were aware that there was another issue with his blood testing. Since then, I’ve discovered that this is how a large number of young children wind up receiving a type-1 diagnosis after visiting the hospital for a different reason. We discovered after more testing that he is in the “honeymoon period” of his T1 lifespan.
