A bridal gown that looked to be “see-through” sparked debate on social media.
Choosing a wedding dress is one of the most important occasions in a woman’s life because it is usually one of the most beautiful and expensive pieces of clothing she will ever wear.
Keeping this in mind, selecting a dress can be a lengthy process that is frequently enjoyed with friends and family – and often a huge amount of champagne.
Some dresses, however, are not universally adored and can divide opinions, as one dress called “see-through” has done.
Celebrations Bridal and Tux in Virginia posted a video of the gown on their Instagram page, sparking a dispute between generations regarding which dress is finest.
The company captioned the video, which portrays a young bride wearing a sheer wedding dress, “MOB (mother of the bride): I only want my daughter in a ballgown.”
Before we get into the debate over which garment is ideal for mothers and daughters, let’s address the reality that some people believed it didn’t leave much to the imagination.
“That see-through skirt looks trashy,” one user wrote, while another added, “That’s a ball gown?” It appears to be underwear.
Then there was the dispute about whether the bride or the mother of the bride should have the last word on the wedding dress… and things got heated.
“Absolutely the bride’s choice,” one individual stated. But don’t be surprised if the MOB does not pay. In everything, choices have repercussions. If your mother does not approve, be sure you can pay for yourself.”
A second said: “Little girls trying [to] assert their independence but still need mommy to pay how cute,”… terrible.
“If you’re only paying for someone’s dress or whatever part of a wedding (or party) to control someone, don’t,” a third participant concluded. That is not a gift; rather, it is manipulation. I can’t stand those folks; it’s not your wedding, so it’s not your choice.”
