Céline Dion, a well-known star who is still battling illness, has announced the cancellation of her entire planned world tour.
“I’m very sorry to disappoint all of you once again,” she said on Twitter.
Celine Dion fans first got concerning news last year, when the legendary singer revealed she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological illness.
In a heartbreaking Instagram video, Dion explained that she has a “one in a million” condition called stiff-person syndrome, a degenerative nervous system sickness that affects the brain and spinal cord and can cause severe spasms and impede mobility.
Despite the fact that the condition is incurable, symptoms can be treated.
Many of Dion’s fans are aware of her muscle spasm issues, which forced her to cancel her North American tour dates in January. Dion has canceled her upcoming 42-city tour owing to what appear to be ongoing health issues. The well-known musician expressed her disappointment with the decision on social media.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint you all yet again… and, as much as it pains me, it’s best if we postpone everything until I’m truly ready to return to the stage… I’m not going away… and I’m looking forward to seeing you again!” She stated.
Dion has kept a low profile since that comment, but her sister Claudette has provided updates on her health and voiced confidence.
“I am confident that life will give her back what she gave because she is an extremely intelligent woman, so very generous and talented and in love with life as well,” Claudette said to the Le Journal de Montreal.
“Rather than crying over her fate, I try to send her positive vibes in the hope that one day she will go back on stage.”
Dion has updated her health status one month after releasing a new song. In April, she unveiled an official lyric video for “Love Again,” the title song to the film of the same name, which was released on May 12.
Dion contributed six of her famous songs to the film’s soundtrack, including “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” as well as five brand-new songs. Celine Dion has sold over 200 million records worldwide.
Her hits include “The Power of Love,” “Because You Loved Me,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and the Titanic theme song, “My Heart Will Go On.”Her diamond-selling albums, Falling Into You and Let’s Talk About Love, are both among the best-selling albums of all time.
She has received five Grammy Awards, including Album and Record of the Year. Her last Las Vegas performance residency was the highest-earning residency in music history.
