A mother receives viral attention for the shirt she made her son wear to school.

A Texas mother decided to teach her son a lesson after discovering something important about his personality. The child was causing trouble at school. Administrators at the school he attended approached his mother and explained that he was a bully to other pupils.

The Texas mother claimed that her kid went down the wrong path and was calling other children “idiots” and “stupid,” so she decided to have her bully son wear a T-shirt that read, “I am a BULLY.” Mom wants her son to be identified as a bully at Greenleaf Elementary School in his community.

She was aware that other children at the school had learned that her son was a terrible person to other students. Still, she wanted everybody to know that she believed them, so she forced her son to wear a humiliating T-shirt in front of hundreds of people at school, not to mention a million people online who saw his mother’s Facebook post. See the image of the shirt below.

“He was calling other boys stupid (and) calling them idiots,” the Texas parent, Star, told KTRK-TV. She wished to be named only by her first name. “I am a really old-school mom. I do not coddle my kids. I don’t sugarcoat the world for kids.”

Star wanted as many individuals as could to know that her son was a harasser, so she shared a photo of him wearing the T-shirt on her Facebook page. She said, “I posted it to reach out to the parents of any of the kids my son may have bullied so that each one of them could get a personal apology.”

Star defended herself against critics in the online community and stood by her actions, despite the opinion of some that she punished her bully son too harshly. He said, “I learned that I didn’t like the way that felt, and I don’t want anybody else to feel that way because of me,” when Star asked him what he had learned from the experience. That’s precisely what I want him to learn from it. Experts in the field of child development oppose Star’s punishment.

A child psychiatrist at Baylor College of Medicine criticized Star for how she treated her son, despite the fact that he was a bully who was harming other kids. The child psychiatrist stated, “Not a good idea to embarrass your child and solidify a negative identity in an elementary school child.” “I believe the school is one resource that she can use to find assistance.” Despite facing backlash on social media and other online platforms, Star maintained that her son’s school district supported her choice. “Parents have the right to make important decisions and take certain actions on behalf of their child,” stated Splendora ISD. How do you feel about this mother disciplining her son who bullies others?
