Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children: everything you need to know

Even though they are no longer together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still happy parents of six amazing kids.

When Jolie adopted Maddox Chivan, then 21 years old, from an orphanage in Cambodia back in 2002, she became a mother for the first time. After three years, the family expanded when 18-year-old Ethiopian-born Zahara Marley was welcomed into the family. Soon after, Pitt also adopted Jolie’s first two kids, and the pair decided to keep growing their family.

Jolie and Pitt adopted their 19-year-old son Pax Thien from Vietnam after their 17-year-old daughter Shiloh Nouvel was born in 2006. Their family then expanded even further in 2008 when they welcomed their 15-year-old twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.

Jolie claims that her children have benefited greatly from having a large family and a global upbringing.

They’re wonderful individuals, and I believe that their sheer number has had a big impact on one another. It’s not as though I lead anything. I tell my kids the truth all the time. Jolie said to PEOPLE, “And with my kids, I’m very human.”
