FATHER GAVE HIS DAUGHTER AN ULTIMATUM BECAUSE SHE DID NOT INVITE HER SIBLINGS AND THEIR FAMILY TO HER WEDDING.

On the r/AITA section of Reddit, a father had posted a narrative. The father claimed that because his daughter’s siblings were gay, she didn’t invite them to the wedding. The father issued her daughter a warning, saying that if she didn’t invite them, he wouldn’t be there to support her wedding.

Three of his children—his daughter Casey and his gay sons Tom and Alex—were named by the father, who went by the alias u/Mammoth_Inside_2441.

then explained how his daughter Casey, who has been seeing Max for four years, is getting married. OP mentioned that he is paying for most of the wedding because Max’s parents are abroad and couldn’t afford much because of the exchange rate.

Casey was not present when the father discovered that his gay kids, Tom and Alex, had not received wedding invitations like his sister and other children had. They were having a family get-together.

He confronted his daughter at that point, as the OP noted, “I immediately saw red,” and scolded her for not inviting her brothers to her wedding due to their gender and life decisions. He was shocked to learn that Casey had been their support system her entire life.

Then he learned that she had to leave them without invitation since her prospective in-laws were upset with the lifestyles of her siblings. She wanted her father to know that their decision is not in line with their culture.

“I have advised her if that’s the case I will not be walking her down the aisle and drawing out from paying for her wedding, as she can not eliminate her family like this when they did nothing wrong, and if her future in-laws views is so important to her, they can pay for the wedding,” dad then gave her an ultimatum.

Her daughter sobbed after hearing his statement, and she held the phone up to his face. The rest of the family supports their father in this situation, and his wife is inconsolable since no one could have predicted his daughter’s behavior.
