For several years, a wealthy man had an affair with an Italian woman. It was during one of their dates one evening that she told him she was expecting. In order to keep his marriage and reputation intact, he offered her a substantial payment in exchange for her traveling to Italy to give birth.
He would also give child support until the child turned eighteen if she remained in Italy. Though she wasn’t sure how he would find out when the baby was born, she agreed.
He instructed her to write “Spaghetti” on the back of a post card and ship it to him in order to keep it discreet. After that, he would set up child support. Approximately nine months later, he returned home to find his wife perplexed. “You received a very strange post card today, honey,” she added. He answered, “Well, just give it to me; I’ll explain it later.”
Following her husband’s instructions, the wife observed as he read the card, became pale, and passed out. “Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti” was scribbled on the card. One without meatballs and two with them.
