By the time Rosa finally sat down in a salon chair, her hair had grown to an incredible length — nearly 1.5 meters long. That’s right, she had been carrying around a floor-length mane for decades.

But Rosa didn’t cut her hair on a whim. She had a powerful reason: she wanted to donate over 4 feet of her hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer and medical treatments.

“I think it would make somebody’s day who’s suffering from a bad disease,” Rosa said with a warm smile. “It’ll make their day a little brighter.”
